Who is Dr. Zen?

Zen Matsuda was born in the Twin Cities in Minnesota.  He earned his four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Science from Northwestern College in St. Paul, Minnesota.  After graduation, he continued his study in the Doctorate of Chiropractic program at the Northwestern Health Science University in Bloomington, Minnesota.  During his course of study, he came across Gonstead Chiropractors that changed his ideas about Chiropractic.  Spending many hours of seminars, internships, and practice, he learned how to analyze the spine biomechanically and specific/precise correction of the spine.

Supplemental services

Shiatsu/Accupressure- 30min=$50   20min=$30   10min=$15

Like acupuncture, shiatsu is based on the holistic system of traditional Chinese medicine, where illness is thought to result from imbalances in the natural flow of energy, or qi (pronounced “chee”) through the body.  Shiatsu therapists use finger and palm pressure to energetic pathways, called meridians to improve the flow of qi.  A scientific explanation is that shiatsu calms an overactive sympathetic nervous system, which improves circulation, relieves stiff muscles, and alleviates stress.

Cranial Sacral Technique- 30min=$50

A healing therapy that seeks to enhance the circulation of the cerebrospinal fluid throughout the central nervous system. Done through subtle manipulations of the membranes that line the brain and spinal cord, it helps to restore a body's natural rhythmic movement and flow. Great for headaches, neck pain, sinus conditions, fibromyalgia, chronic pain and fatigue.

Qi-ssage- 30min= $50

There are twelve major energy channels in your body and hundreds of energy points all over your body. Each of these points affects the balance and flow of your body’s energy; however, only a couple dozen of these energy points are vitally important in helping you heal and in helping you experience and maintain your optimal health and wellness.

Qigong Session-30min=$40   60min=$80

According to Chinese model, sickness, pain, and other health anomalies are caused when Qi energy is blocked. When Qi cannot flow through the invisible channels, the meridians of the body, two things happen. First, excess Qi builds up where it is not needed or wanted. This is like water damming a river and flooding a neighborhood. Second, other parts of the body do not receive enough Qi. This is like a riverbed drying out on the other side of a dam, destroying river life. Qigong helps remove blocks and increase the flow of energy though your body. Flowing freely, Qi energy helps heal and restore the body and enhances well being.

Tai Chi Session-PROMO 30min=$10

It is an internal Chinese martial art practiced for both its defense training and its health benefits. Tai Chi is a noncompetitive, self-paced system of gentle physical exercise and stretching. To do tai chi, you perform a series of postures or movements in a slow, graceful manner. Each posture flows into the next without pause, ensuring that your body is in constant motion.

T'ai Chi is a physical and cognitive exercise, and participants begin to develop emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.  Psychologically, this exercise increases communication between the body and the mind and enables one to deal with others more effectively.  It reduces stress and creates a calmness and confidence that is displayed throughout everyday life.

Applied Kinesiology-60min=$50

Applied kinesiology (AK) is an alternative medicine method used for diagnosis and determination of therapy. According to practitioners using Applied Kinesiology techniques, it provides feedback on the functional status of the body. AK is a practice within the realm of alternative medicine and is different from "kinesiology," which is the scientific study of human movement.
